Is it too late to use Crypto Faucets? Week 24 analysis – Getting deeper in the numbers

This is my 24th week ending 4/14/2018 of data analysis for my crypto faucet experiment, can you still make money and how much from manually running faucets?

I started this because of typical fear of missing out,(if only I had started this, 6-12-18 months ago, a year ago it could be worth X). This is not your typical faucet post with “check out this faucet” (affiliate link). While these are my affiliate links, you will also see my transparency in reporting.

TL/DR: Lifetime Value: $28.59 (Up $4.46 from Week 23)— Over 10,333+ claims $25.97 90.84% of earnings are from my actions, 9.16% are from referral claims.

Week 24 – Over 499+ claims for a total of $2.86 89.61% of earnings are from my actions, 10.39% – $0.30 are from referral claims.

Week 24 Breakdown

Personal Actions Value Referrals Value
Faucet claims: $1.03 Referrals claims: 127+ $0.30
Daily Bonus: 7 $0.05
Offers Completed: 82 $0.66
CoinPot Mining $0

Claims Claims and more Claims

Slight dip in claims, its hard to hit that many claims manually each day, especially after losing so bad at Hi/Lo this week.

Here is a quick breakdown by coins and value for the week

Coin Amt Claimed Value
BTC .00022047 $1.58
BCH .00011352 $0.06

Doge 39.39 $0.10
LTC .00060761 $0.09
CoinPot 456 $.06 *

*Price Calcuated on Conversion to BTC

There are 10 (yes I added one!) faucets I am using for this experiment, I think I will only plan on adding more if CoinPot does. Honestly at this point it is hard to keep up with them all to maximize returns.

MoonbitCoin Offers – Offer Toro

Offer Toro was running a great offer. If you clicked through the slide shows you could earn 100 satoshi. It said you complete it once per hour, but when I tried doing them mutliple times in a day it was sparodic, and I would only get half to give me credit even though they all let me complete the slide show. I moved to doing each only once per day, which was fine there between 15 – 20 when I would sit down to process. I will keep it going daily until they dissapear, its just too easy to drink a cup of tea and run through them in the monring. This week was 22,660 satoshi so it was pretty good again this week!

Losses with Hi/LO – What happened

Right after I hit a big milestone of 30k Satoshi of Freebitco.in, I blew the whole balance. Didn’t go on tilt, didn’t have a really bad run of 14-15 in a row. This was just a honest mistake made a mobile phone. I was playing, hit a stretch of 7-8 in a row and and wanted to make a big bet for me of 1000 satoshi, so .00001000. Bad part for me was I deleted one extra zero and be 10,000 or .00010000. I made three bets, not realising that was my whole balance! I wasnt mad, just confused until I looked at my bet history and saw my mistake. Oh well, time to start over. Just be careful on your mobile when you can’t see it very well!!!

Referrals

I have referrals come and go, start and stop but have had 1-2 on Moonbit, BonusBitcoin, Dash and FreeBitcoin. Thank you for those who recently joined Satoshi Hero!! I can’t see referral detail or share on Satoshi Hero – but if you use my Link for FreeDoge or FreeBTC, I will share back the commissions I earn from you. I will share as much as I can, but as you can see, I do go bust playing hi/lo. If you do join on my link, let me know and I will see if I can send some free crypto. I am thinking it might be Doge because its such a good one for very low transfers.

Is it too late? Removing price volatility.

The graph below tries to remove the price volatility from my faucet claims results by using a static prices based on the price of the first day I started to claim from that faucet. I would be better off if I didn’t have the big losses on Hi/Lo BTC, but I actually dipped below there for a day or two. At the end I am only up $0.36 on price increases! I had hoped to clear $100 USD in the year but at this rate, I really need some good price support to get there.

Optimized Savings March Update

Finding small ways to save money is a hobby of mine. I like to function stack rebates, coupons, discounts and other ways to save on every day purchases. This is my report from our family’s savings and earning programs for March 2018

Overview

March was a month of missed opportunities, some out of my control and some were just bad communication. We had a total of $42.74 saved/earned across all programs. Have a loss for the cypto faucets doesn’t help, but hopefully the price will hold or go back to climbing soon. Below is how we did in each program this month, and the total amount saved in the program either since I started tracking, or I could find lifetime earnings in the apps/programs.

Program Name Monthly Increase Lifetime
Script 38.45 252.88
Checkout 51 4 34.25
Ibotta 3 105.25
Fetch Rewards 2.14 8.106
KellogsFamilyRewards 0.05 1.17
SwagBucks 0.02 23.16
Saving Star 0 38.73
Ebates 0 83.2
Plenti 0 158.44
Card Cash 0 110.98
Card Pool 0 5.6
Ebucks 0 160.42
Crypto Faucet (4.92) 22.14

Missed Opportunities

Gift cards: Even with all the planning we try to do, we found ourselves out of cards on several occasions. We are considering keeping a bigger supply of cards at home to avoid running out.

Ebates:

We missed 4-5 online purchases for clicking through Ebates, a couple to Target and several to Shutterfly. Going foward I hope not to miss these opportunities.

Discount Gift cards

Really focusing on planning our our purchases and buying discounted gift cards is again the biggest – and will most likely be our biggest program for the foreseeable future. We utilize script cards because they are available everyday our our kids school, and we have access to vendors we can’t find online at Cardcash or Cardpool. Of course if there is a big difference I will buy cards off Cardcash/Cardpool/Giftcard granny etc. We are lucky enough to have some great categories we take advantage of.

Crypto Faucets

The price decline has been brutal, losing ~$5 in value this month, any pump would be a good feeling but I will keep grinding and reporting the details weekly. I am currently 22 weeks in, still aiming for a full 52 week analysis. I could use a price pump to help keep me motivated. Check out my last detailed post for week 22

Digital Coupons

A bit better for me this month. It was a combination of offers that fit our family needs and buying a few things we normally don’t for school events required snack sharing. I missed a pretty big chunk for Fetch and Kellogg Family Rewards. Typically each month I will do a pantry refill that is 75% of our grocery shopping, but this time the receipt was not printed well. The ink was running low, I could not get good enough photos to submit, I probably missed a few dollars for eah Kellogs and Fetch. Overall Ibotta(Referral Link), Checkout51Fetch Rewards (Get 2000 points for using code P6EHP), and Kellogs Family Rewards are all still chugging along , only used when I need something.

Conclusion

Good results for the first quarter of 2018, but need to focus on using the rebates every chance we get. I will be perfectly content to save fewer dollars, as long as I am saving a bigger percentage of a small number. Let me know if you have any tricks or tips you use to get better discounts or save money.

Satoshi Hero has changed, now you can win 100,000 satoshi

A nice change to how Satoshi Hero is working, you can now win up to 100,000 satoshi. I think I hit a 1000 satoshi faucet this last week but

  1. I didn’t get a screen shot and was just clicking to get to the next claim
  2. I didn’t save my faucet data properly at the end of Saturday, and I can’t view history in Satoshi Hero.

I had to spread my gains over a few extra days, but you can see I jumped about 933 this week, so I think its highly likely I hit the 1000.

Optimized Savings February Update

Finding small ways to save money is a hobby of mine. I like to function stack rebates, coupons, discounts and other ways to save on every day purchases. This is my report from our family’s savings and earning programs for January.

Overview

February was good down month finding discounts and savings, but that was also driven by reduced spending. I will take reduced spending any day over saving a few percent off something we didn’t really need. We had a total of $83.98 saved/earned across all programs. Below is how we did in each program this month, and the total amount saved in the program either since I started tracking, or I could find lifetime earnings in the apps/programs.

Program Name Monthly Increase Lifetime
Script 31.5 214.13
Crypto Faucet 7.5 27.06

Discount Giftcards

Really focusing on planning our our purchases and buying discounted giftcards is again the biggest. We utilize script cards because they are available everyday our our kids school, and we have access to vendors we cant find online at Cardcash or Cardpool. Of course if there is a big difference I will buy cards off Cardcash/Cardpool/Giftcard granny etc. We are lucky enough to have some great categories we take advantage of.

Ebates

Continues to reward for consistency. I had a few opportunities to click though and buy, although most of my big purchases were not done online or done with stores that do not have a program setup.

Here is my February statement, although its smaller than my calculation because I got credit in February for my January Hotel stay. I don’t count it until it hits my balance.

Crypto Faucets

Volatility sucks, yup enough said. I will keep grinding reporting the details weekly. I am currently 19 weeks in, still aiming for a full 52 week analysis. I could use a price pump to help keep me motivated.

Digital Coupons

Not surprising my digital coupons round out the bottom, but for taking a few pics of my receipts its fine with me. Ibotta, Checkout51, Fetch Rewards, and Kellogs Family Rewards are all still chugging along , only used when I need something.
I hit a few bonuses with Fetch without trying, so that was a nice surprise!

Conclusion

Not a bad effort to start the year, considering I have additional pending purchases for a hotel stay booked via Ebates. I hope to see my discount rate go up across all purchases in 2018 while really trying to drive down the amount we spend. I will be perfectly content to save fewer dollars, as long as I am saving a bigger percentage of a small number. Let me know if you have any tricks or tips you use to get better discounts or save money.

Is it too late to use Crypto Faucets? Week 19 analysis – Getting deeper in the numbers

Can you still make money claiming from crytpo faucets? Week 19 of data analysis for my crypto faucet experiment. I started this because of typical fear of missing out,(if only I had started this, 6 months ago, a year ago it could be worth X). This is not your typical faucet post with “check out this faucet” (affiliate link). While these are my affiliate links, you will also see my transparency in reporting.

TL/DR: Lifetime Value: $23.69 (Down $4.03 from Week 18)— Over 7,400+ claims $22.57. 95% of earnings are from my actions, 5% are from referral claims.

Week 19 – Over 288+ claims for a total of $1.98 92.5% of earnings 8% ($0.15) are from referral claims.

Another Down week for me, I lost drive to claim and I was very focused on work. Interesting week for FreeBTC I will get into in a bit, here is my weekly claim chart, cleary down again.

I spent more time on steemit and playing hi/lo than doing claims. I have managed to keep my loyalty bonus at 100% for the Moon faucets.

Here is a quick breakdown by coins and value for the week

Coin Amt Claimed Value
BTC .00006380 $0.56
BCH .00006480 $0.06
Dash .00015696 $0.08
Doge 18.96 $0.07
LTC .00042955 $0.08

There are 9 faucets I am using for this experiment, I only plan on adding more if CoinPot does. Honestly at this point it is hard to keep up with them all to maximize returns. Plus I start traveling for work, and I doubt airports and plane rides are conductive to reCaptcha.

FreeBTC – What happened

Failure of Lottery

Dear FreeBitco.in user,

Due to an issue with Twitter’s API, our automatic drawing system for Lottery Round 144 (scheduled for Sunday, March 4 2018) experienced a failure and was unable to proceed with the picking of winners.

We would like to profusely apologize for this inconvenience and have added checks to ensure that this does not happen again.

We shall be refunding the cash equivalent of the tickets that you had in this round (1 satoshi per ticket) directly to your account balance and cancelling lottery round 144. You can use this credit to participate in lottery round 145 or for any other purpose on the website.

Since you had 4950 tickets in lottery round 144, we have credited your account balance with 4950 satoshi (0.00004950 BTC).

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveneince this may have caused and we have modified our drawing system accordingly so that failure in third-party services will not affect our drawing system in the future.

As you can see in the email I received, their lottery broke. Just so happened I was pushing hard playing HI and buying tickets to boost my rewards when this happened. So I went from bust a few days ago, to getting just shy of 5k satoshi!. Great start, I think I got a push down from the referral I used to sign up, another bonus. Finally, I decided to see who much I could recover and really focus on driving reward points usage.

  1. Used 1000% claim bonus
  2. used 100 Reward bonus to rebuild reward points ( I will keep doing this to get back to #1 consistently)

Is it too late? Removing price volatility.

The graph below tries to remove the price volatility from my faucet claims results by using a static prices based on the price of the first day I started to claim from that faucet. That dip reset me to almost even, but it has climbed back to profit from the growing coin values. I love those dips to really crank up the faucet claims. They can be almost double on the dips.

Getting your coins!

Coinpot has recently announced they are no longer to send deposits to Coinbase, but they have removed fees, and lowered withdrawal limits. From now on I will send the majority of my coins to my Ledger.

Weekly Thoughts

After last weeks post, I am trying to build up my FreeBTC bonus. It is NOT east, I am stuck under 30% after a lot of Hi/Lo and 1000+ lottery tickets. I think to move the needle I will need to increase my exposure to risk and bet higher amounts to buy more lottery tickets. We will see if I get burned am able to build it up, I feel like the bonus structure is tied to when the faucet paid out more.

Getting your coins!

None of this is worth doing, when if it comes time to collect your built up balances, only to find out you are unable to transfer. I chose to transfer 100k Satoshi to Coinbase since to avoid a transfer fee, and hold until I determine my long term goals. The 100k basically drained all available satoshi, but it is nice to clear them to a wallet where if I want I can move to GDAX to sell or trade. I am not sure if I want to keep each base coin I collect, or convert all into one coin for ease. In the coming weeks I will work though my options, but for now here is proof my transfer worked.

Summary

I think you can still make small amounts of money from the faucets, but you have to put in the work, and complete the claims.

Upcoming

I plan to move the remaining BTC balance out of Coinpot. I am going to keep the renaming coins in Coinport until the reach a value of at least $5. Then I will either convert them to one currency, or move them to Coinbase as is. Coinbase doesn’t currently support Doge or Dash so I will either need to convert those or move elsewhere.

Please let me know your tricks and tips or ask some questions below. If you want next weeks update, give me a follow.
